Margo K. Apostolos, PhD, June 1967

Margo Apostolos (Jun 67)Margo has combined a love of dance with several different specialties. As director of dance and movement at the Univ. of Southern Califonia’s School of Theatre, she developed the university’s dance minor in theatre studies and coordinates the Open Gate Dance Program.

Her research into robot choreography led her to work with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Cal Tech as a research scientist in space telerobics.

She has served as visiting professor in the Department of Psychology at Princeton Univ. and has taught in Chicago, San Francisco, at Stanford Univ., Southern Illinois Univ. and California Polytechnic State Univ.-San Luis Obispo. She also is co-director of the Cedars-Sinai/USC Dance Medicine Center in Los Angeles.

Through funding from Stanford University’s “Dance for Sports” program, Margo made presentations to the International Olympics Committee in Sydney, Australia and in preparation for the 2002 Salt Lake City games.
