“‘Tis
not in mortals to command success, but he’ll do more… he’ll deserve it…” So the
Taft Aerie described David.
As founder and director of the Spirit of Life Chorus, he credits his inspiration
in music and conducting to J.J. Stamm and his experiences singing in the Taft
Mixed Chorus.
“Spirit of Life,” a 100-voice ecumenical Christian chorus, has been performing
free concerts—an astonishing 16 a year—since 1990, primarily in the Chicago
area. He volunteers all of his time with the group, handles its marketing,
selects the music and serves as its administrator.
Founded in 1972, David’s company, American Media Productions Inc., develops,
writes, produces programs, commercials and written materials for corporations
and associations. “My company…makes a living for me,” he reports. “Everything
else I do is gratis.”
