In
Gary’s senior year he was a member of the citywide championship Mixed Chorus,
Taft's citywide championship baseball team and a cast member in "H.M.S.
Pinafore.”
One afternoon nap, he said, "prepared me for the rest of my life. When I
awoke... I suddenly knew what direction my life was to take me. My calling was
to be an entertainer...if God had given me a certain talent, that it was my
responsibility to use that gift.“
Gary became a performer in musical theater, worked in record production, was a
unit producer for ABC television, wrote TV scripts and game shows, created,
directed and produced two NBC-TV children's programs, and taught at UCLA. His
professional performing career began mid-college, and he has been in the
entertainment business ever since.
