Robert
credits a number of Taft teachers for encouraging him to make something of his
life, especially his homeroom teacher, Miss MacGregor, who told him, “"I just
can't stand people who don't live up to their potential!” Coach Dobrath helped
him win a scholarship to the University of Illinois.
Robert began a career in real estate in 1971 in Texas. With partner Camille
Julmy, he founded U.S. Equities Realty LLC, The company has headquarters in
Chicago, Philadelphia, Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina. As Chairman
and CEO, he oversees expansion, strategic planning and consultation.
As a civic leader, Robert has served on the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce,
Chicago Development Council, the Mayors’ Fellows Program, and on the board of
Metra, the metropolitan commuter rail authority. A supporter of the arts, he
founded Sculpture Chicago and served on the board of the Museum of Contemporary
Art.
